Milia Removal
Milia (plural) or milium (singular) are small, white, cyst-like bumps that can be found on the skin on the face. These are most commonly found near the eyes and nose. Milia are a very common skin condition. Milia can occur at any age.
Milia cysts don’t result in redness or inflammation, which is why you may not notice anything. It generally feels quite hard. It is very common to see milia in clusters around the eyes, but it is possible to have just one milium at a time and they can occur anywhere on the body.
There are 2 types of removal procedures for a milia cyst. The first is a needle extraction, where a sterile needle is inserted into the cyst and then removed. The other type is a hyfrecator extraction, which cauterises the top layers of skin to help remove the cyst.
