The Perfect Peel

The Perfect Peel

Superficial facial skin peels are popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments for achieving younger-looking, healthier and clearer skin. They are often referred to as “lunchtime peels” as the initial procedure only takes around 15 minutes.

Over time facial wrinkles and fine lines develop as part of the natural ageing process. Genetics diet, environment and excessive sun exposure are also contributing factors. Superficial peels can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and uneven pigmentation.

At SkinMedico we offer the Perfect Peel® which is suitable for all skin types and is the first of its kind to include glutathione, a key anti-ageing ingredient. Glutathione is an antioxidant that occurs naturally in the body but which becomes depleted due to ageing and environmental factors.

The Perfect Peel® combines glutathione with kojic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), retinoic acid, salicylic acid and phenol, plus vitamins and minerals. Kojic acid is a lightening agent, which also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to make the skin brighter and tighter. TCA, retinoic acid and phenol help reduce wrinkles and tackle pigmentation issues, while salicylic acid acts as an exfoliant.

The Perfect Peel® can be applied in less than 15 minutes, is virtually pain free and the peeling process is completed in just one week to reveal smooth and glowing skin. We will give you an individual home treatment pack containing retinol wipes and moisturiser to use during the peeling process.

For those with more severe skin conditions, such as acne and melasma, a series of 2-3 treatments every 4 weeks may be required. To maintain the improved results we recommend 2 or 3 treatments per year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the treatment painful?

You may feel a slight stinging or tingling sensation for just a few seconds as the Perfect Peel® is applied.

How long does the peeling process take?

Peeling usually begins on the third day and is generally completed by the sixth or seventh day.

What will I look like while my skin is peeling?

After the peel is applied the skin will appear red, like sunburn. The moisturiser in the home care kit will reduce the visibility of peeling. By day six or seven you will see your new skin.

Can I wear make-up during the peeling process?

You should avoid make-up on the day the peel is applied and immediately post peel. But you may resume wearing make-up on day two of the peeling process.

At SkinMedico, we offer you a full medical assessment prior to your first treatment. We will advise you on an individualised plan of treatment to suit your needs. This process gives you a great opportunity to ask all the questions that you might have and discuss the treatment plan. The Perfect Peel can be carried out alone or in combination with other treatments.
